Ciao Ciao Bambino, is the lyrical memoir from one of the most exceptional musicians the UK has ever produced. This is the story of Michael Head, who the NME once described as “our greatest songwriter''.

In his memoir, we follow the adventurous Mick through his childhood in 60s Liverpool, the formation of the critically acclaimed Pale Fountains, the roller-coaster ups and downs of Shack and a cast of musical luminaries including Arthur Lee and Love, Noel Gallagher, Ian Broudie and many more.

Michael Head was born in Liverpool in 1961 and lives there still. He formed The Pale Fountains with Chris McCaffrey in 1980, Shack with brother John, Ian Templeton and Pete Wilkinson in 1988 and the Red Elastic Band in 2013. 2024 is the 40th anniversary of the release of The Pale Fountains’ cherished, cult-classic debut, Pacific Street, and 25th anniversary of Shack’s HMS Fable. Loophole will be Head’s eleventh studio album. Michael Head & the Red Elastic Band UK tour are also announced today and go on sale 2 February.
